Q: At what age can I give Yak Chews to my dog?
We recommend Yak Chews for any dog over 3 months old. If you notice your dog is starting to chew/gnaw on household items, it’s a good time to start them on yak chews.
Q: How many Yak Chews do I give my dog?
We recommend giving only one yak chew maximum per day. You can find our sizing guide on the product detail page! You can give a larger chew to a small dog, but do not give a smaller chew to a large dog. (0-25lbs gets a small chew, 26-50lbs medium, 51-75lbs large, 76+ x-large)

When talking about calories for dog treats, we use kcals as a unit of calorie content. Each yak chew size has a different amount of calories. Our small chews are about 100 kcals per chew, medium chews are about 220 kcals per chew, large chews are about 380 kcals per chew, and extra large chews are about 510 kcals per chew.

Our Yak Chew packaging is made of non-recyclable plastic. Our Yak Chews packaging contains significantly less plastic than our competitors. We also ensure that all our plastic is BPA-free. We are continually looking to reduce plastic use and to increase recyclable materials in our packaging.

We don’t currently know of any negative interactions with common medications, but we ALWAYS recommend consulting your veterinarian whenever adding new supplements to your dog’s diet.

Our Yak Chews come from a group of small, family-owned farms in Nepal that have been making this product for generations.

No, your dog cannot overdose. The ingredients in our chews are not toxic to dogs. That being said, we recommend limiting calories from treats such as Yak Chews to less than 10% of their total daily calorie intake. If your dog shows any signs of discomfort, we always recommend reaching out to your vet.
